It is true that closing the international airport for a period of time would cost the country (Nigeria) some huge sum of money etc. but we are talking about the safety of people using the airport on daily basis. It is important to note that before the aviation authority decide that the airport should be closed to enable them carry out whatever it is that they want to repair there, it means that they have discovered some faults there, therefore the Nigerian lawmakers should not stop them.
