Nigerians have seen why in the northern part of Nigeria, some politicians are always winning elections. These dubious politicians and their political parties would go out of Nigeria to recruit some foreign nationals and give them Nigeria’s Permanent Voters Card so that they can be able to cast their votes as Nigerians. This is the worst type of corruption. Another problem of this type of fraudulent practice and abuse of Nigeria’s national security system is that some of these illegal immigrants would end up joining terrorist kidnapping and killing innocent Nigerians, as it is happening across the country. So we urge the officials of the immigration service to be more vigilant by protecting Nigeria’s borders so that no illegal immigrant would come into the country. There should be proper border control to guide against undocumented foreigners coming into Nigeria. Only Nigerian citizens are allowed to vote at every election and not the other way around. Those illegal immigrants caught with Nigeria’s Permanent Voters Card should be investigated properly to know how they got the cards, possibly they should be prosecuted and if they are found guilty, they should be sent to jail or returned to their various countries. This is a serious breach of Nigeria’s national security system which should not be condoned.
