No matter how terrible a leader may be, some individuals would still support and cast their votes for the leader in question, which is understandable.
This again goes to show the teachings and greatness of democracy.
So, governors in Nigeria who are entertaining fears that their presidential candidate, who also is the president of Nigeria, would not get enough votes from All Progressives Congress-controlled states in the country to enable him continue in office beyond 2027 should slow down a bit.
We believe that no matter how badly President Bola Tinubu’s government has performed so far, his government would still get some votes from states across Nigeria.
But threatening voters and calling out chairmen and councillors in All Progressives Congress states and threatening them to cast their votes for President Bola Tinubu or face serious problems would worsen the situation.
Such threats may likely deter those who had already made up their mind to cast their votes for APC/President Bola Tinubu to move over to another political party’s presidential candidate.
We have seen Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State make such a terrible statement, including other governors too. Such remarks are not healthy, taking into consideration the teachings of democracy.
Again, based on these terrible remarks, we are appealing to All Progressives Congress governors in Nigeria to tread carefully by allowing Nigerians to elect their choice of leaders without any form of intimidation.
