It was said by lots of people in the country (Nigeria) that the Nigerian lawmakers are very corrupt and most of them do not even know why they are there. Some feel that being a lawmaker is all about how much wealth one can acquire for himself or herself but that should not be the reason but unfortunately that has been their motive for being there. Any bill that is introduced, if it does not favour their personal interest then such bill is likely not going to make it. The same also affected the appointment of some individuals for example Ibrahim Magu of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, those that have lots of skeletons in their cupboards are seriously against his confirmation. If you ask them why, they have no reason to give instead they will tell you that the report they received from DSS is the reason for not confirming him which should not have been so. They should have carried out their own investigation before rejecting Ibrahim Magu’s confirmation, this man is doing a great job in Nigeria and should be confirmed. Some among the lawmakers were even suggesting that the presidency should lobby the senate and we all know what that means which is Ghana Must Go (GMG) would have to come into play but those making such suggestion are just wasting their time because president Buhari’s government can not do that, never. However if corruption can be controlled to the lowest level, then the country will surely be fine and have more good things for her citizens which everyone is always praying for.
