The person who created this problem in Gambia that made president Yahya Jammeh to change his mind after conceding defeat was the president elect Adama Barrow. He (Adama Barrow) allegedly said that if he takes over power, he would investigate the president (Yahya Jammeh) and his wrong doings and if he is found on the wrong side of law, then he would be tried in a law court. In our opinion, this shows how inexperience the incoming president (Adama Barrow) is proving to be. He just won an election but power has not yet been handed over to him, he should have waited a bit before speaking on who to investigate and who to put on trial. These are school boys sort of speeches, democracy is an open system of government which should be followed by applying certain principles and standard. Even if Yahya Jammeh (the president of Gambia) is going to be investigated, you (Adama Barrow) should have waited until when you are sworn in as the president of the country (Gambia) before taking any action against anyone. This is because the president of Gambia (Yahya Jammeh) is a dictator and has lots of skeletons in his cupboard, therefore in dealing with such a terrible man wisdom and diplomacy are required to put him where he rightly belongs. Having said all these, we (Viewers Corner News team) are pleading with ECOWAS not to use military action against Yahya Jammeh of Gambia because of the consequences, Gambia is a small country and any military action against the country would create lots of civilian causalities which would not be appropriate at this point in time. No matter how long it may take, diplomacy and dialogue should be employed to get Yahya Jammeh out of the way. Again using military force to achieve this purpose would not be in the best interest of peace, let diplomacy and dialogue be the keywords.
