TWO PEOPLE REPORTED DEAD AFTER A RIVER CRUISE SHIP HAD AN ACCIDENT ON THE MAIN DANUBE CANAL NEAR ERLANGEN IN GERMANY.

A river cruise ship carrying about 230 people had an accident underneath a railway bridge on the Main-Danube Canal near Erlangen in Germany killing two crew members on Sunday, September 11, 2016. According to the information our correspondent gathered, the cruise ship (Viking Freya) which cast off early Sunday from the town of Erlangen on its way to Budapest (Hungarian capital) hit a rail bridge and crushed the wheelhouse thereby leaving two crew members dead. The dead crew members were a 49-year-old Hungarian who was guiding the vessel as the ship’s captain and a 33-year-old sailor who was also from Hungary.
Investigation is on going to determine the cause of the accident. May the souls of the dead rest in peace.
