It has been confirmed that the two tourists killed in Egypt resort knife attack were Germans, not Ukrainians as was originally stated. The security manager of Red Sea region, Major Gen. Mohamed El-Hamzawi stated this when he spoke with news agencies. Germany also confirmed on Saturday that the two females killed by Shaaban were Germans. According to the report our correspondent in Hurghada gathered, a 29-year-old Abdel-Rahman Shaaban (graduate Egyptian university) sat and spoke to two German women (the victims) fluently in German before he brought out big kitchen knife and stabbed them to death at Red Sea resort (Egypt). He was chased by the hotel workers and security guards. Shaaban ran inside the hotel, attacked and wounded four women (one Ukrainian, two Armenians and one Czech Republic national). Abdel-Rahman Shaaban was later caught, disarmed and handed over to the police. No group has claimed responsibility for that attack and the motive for the attack is yet to be determined. May the souls of the dead rest in peace.
