Would anyone blame Nigerians for asking the government of Nigeria to allow them to carry weapons to defend themselves when they are being attacked by bandits and terrorists? No one would blame Nigerians because if the government of Nigeria, which is supposed to protect lives and properties, cannot do the job, then it becomes necessary for Nigerians to defend themselves. The whole world saw how the people of Plateau State in the northern part of Nigeria were massacred by bandits and terrorists. This horrible situation is also happening in various states across Nigeria. The federal government of Nigeria has failed to address this issue. We also believe that, if Nigerians can be allowed to carry weapons, at least such an ugly situation may be reduced. Though not so good, when the authorities cannot stop these bandits and terrorists from attacking innocent Nigerians, then the only option would be to permit Nigerians to carry weapons, which would enable them to defend themselves at all times. Now farmers in Nigeria are scared to go to their farms just because of fear of losing their lives, which has brought food shortages to the country. Again, we are appealing to the government of Nigeria to look into this matter and have it sorted out because no one has the right to terminate a life he or she did not create; therefore, doing so is wrong and unacceptable. It has to stop.
