It sound so good and logical but not right, the ex-vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has good ideas most times in terms of how Nigeria as a great nation should be governed, in one of his presentations he gave some useful suggestions on the way forward for Nigeria and having gone through the proposal, it was quite impressive and if such ideas were to be implemented, it would have been good for the country (Nigeria). We shall talk more on it in our next article, however his recent views on the alcohol tax issue is not so good. He allegedly said that states that opposed to the sales of alcohol in their various states should not be entitled to benefits coming from the sales of such products. His views sound so nice and logical too but in our (Viewers Corner News and the advisory team) opinion, such idea would not promote the spirit of one Nigeria. Petroleum which is the major source of income for the country (Nigeria) is gotten mostly from Niger delta region of Nigeria which almost every Nigerian citizen is benefiting from because Nigeria is one, so we believe that whatever that is derived from the sales of any national product should be shared equally whether it is the state that oppose or does not know how the products were made etc.,as long as it is a state in Nigeria, a share of what other states derives should also be given to such state. Again we are appealing to the federal government of Nigeria to address the issue of the economy because the poverty level is getting out of hand, the recession is really hitting the people in a hard way and should be controlled because we do not know for how long the people of Nigeria would wait for the government to put things right. The situation is serious and should be corrected quickly to save the poor masses of the country (Nigeria) from starving.
