The electoral system of Nigeria should be reformed to suit present and future developmental goals.

Nigeria will never rise to its true potential until we fix these things: our corrupt and outdated electoral system. Every other problem: insecurity, poverty, unemployment, economic collapse begins with the kind of leaders this broken system produces.

Right now, the least qualified, most self-serving individuals are running our country. They make laws for us, yet they cannot even govern with integrity. Visionary, capable Nigerians are pushed aside simply because they have no political godfather to open the door for them. This is why our executive, legislature, and judiciary are drowning in corruption, and the country is trapped in a trial-and-error style of governance that keeps failing us.

We must demand a true electoral reform: one where every vote is counted and protected, rightful winners are declared without fear, without bribery, without manipulation. A system where any Nigerian, no matter their background, can contest and win if they have the competence and the people’s trust.

This is not just about elections, it is about the future of our nation. A credible electoral system will bring stability, end political desperation, and open the door for leaders who are not puppets of corrupt godfathers. Leaders who will work for the people, not for their pockets.

Nigerians, we cannot keep watching the same recycled faces destroy our dreams. We cannot pass this broken system to our children. Reform is the only way forward.

If we fix the vote, we fix Nigeria. If we do not, we stay in the same pit or sink even deeper. The choice is ours.
