Nigeria is still owing workers’ salaries, gratuities, and pension allowances. Despite all the federal allocations and the internally generated revenues from their states, including funds from other sources, state governors still cannot pay workers their entitlements. If you look at all the states in Nigeria, you will not see where these huge sums of money were invested. Look at Lagos state for example, when it rains, everywhere is flooded. This is so in most of the states across Nigeria. Now this same group of governors are campaigning to be re-elected to office. Nigerians should ask themselves questions. Why will any governor in Nigeria who is not doing well in his state be re-elected to office? The answer should be NO. Instead, Nigerians should try another person, possibly from another political party. It must not be either PDP or APC. There are other political parties in Nigeria with credible candidates that can fix their states properly if they are given the opportunity. Look at governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, who was nominated to be Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s running mate. In his state, gratuities and pension allowances for the elderly are still owed. If they eventually win the 2023 presidential election, how can such a man with his team lead well when in his state there is so much work which he is unable to do? It is very wrong to nominate such a man because he lacks the qualities of a good leader. Our take on this issue is that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar picked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State because of what he intends to gain in the long run, not because of competence. With such a mindset, Nigeria as a country will not move forward. Nigerian leaders are so greedy, very corrupt and always thinking about their own self-interest, which is bad. The Viewers Corner News team pleads with Nigerian voters not to vote based on political party affiliation. Vote based on the character of the person and his past activities as a leader. When you are convinced that he is the right candidate, then you can cast your vote for him. If you sell your vote because you need urgent cash, then in the next four years, you will experience economic hardship while the politician you sold your vote to will be enjoying himself with his family and cashing out big time. So do the right thing by voting for a leader who will be there for all Nigerians.
