South Africa

Over a hundred people from war-ravaged parts of Palestine were warmly welcomed to South Africa recently, which is truly commendable.

These Palestinians, allegedly coming from severely affected areas of the conflict, were received with warmth and compassion. The government of South Africa did very well by accepting them into the country. This action shows clearly that a friend in need is a friend indeed. We applaud the South African government for its hospitality towards the people of Palestine.

We also use this opportunity to appeal to our Palestinian brothers and sisters to respect the laws of South Africa and avoid anything that could bring discomfort to their host country. South Africa is a great nation and has supported Palestine for many years.

South Africa and Palestine share similar histories of oppression, but today the people of South Africa have gained their freedom, which is wonderful. We hope that someday, the people of Palestine will also have a peaceful, recognised country they can call their own and live in harmony with their neighbours.
