Senator Dino Melaye, with his scandal concerning the alleged certificate forgery and how he allegedly stole television belonging to the students union association at the Ahmadu Bello university, Zaira which led to his removal from the association, some people then still did not believe that he can be trusted. These were some of the comments made by those who knew him then but when he joined politics, he started nicely by preaching and telling people what they really want to hear which made lots of people believed that he has changed for good. Most people were carried away and supported him thinking that he has completely changed from his unruly behaviour in his early days at the university but as he started mingling with highly corrupt individuals in Nigerian politics, his dance steps changed and he joined them. Again within few years in politics, he became so rich even his mansion, the expensive cars found in his garage runs into millions of dollars. We are not directly accusing senator Dino Melaye of corruption but our point is that he is not practising what he preaches, he should live by example. He is favouring deterrence and not punishment when issues of corruption is mentioned which is bad, both should be applied so as to teach those that are planning to go into politics with the aim of looting the treasury of the country (Nigeria) that if they do steal government money, the punishment will be severe. Look at Bukola Saraki (the senate president of Nigeria) who has been facing corruption and assets falsification charges, up till now no one knows when the process would come to an end. What of mama peace as she is called (ex first lady of Nigeria, Patience Jonathan) who can not even defend how she got some millions of dollars in her possession and also her multi billion Naira hotels etc. What of Stella Odua (the ex-minister of aviation in Nigeria) who allegedly used millions of dollars to purchase a bullet proof car. We can go on and on to call their names, these were among the highly placed Nigerians present when senator Dino Melaye launched his book (Antidotes of corruption: The Nigerian story) and some people in Nigeria did not see anything wrong with that. That was celebration of corruption and for Nigeria to change for good, these individuals should be brought to book even if they are not sent to prison but the court in Nigeria should sit on their cases quickly and end that chapter rather than this manipulation that is going on in the country (Nigeria). Viewers Corner News and the advisory team does not favour military government anywhere in the world because it is not and will never be the people’s choice but on a second thought if president Buhari were to still be in the military and younger too, he would have been the best medicine for corruption in Nigeria because by now the fate of those terrible individuals in Nigeria would have been known. We (Viewers Corner News team) shall continue to respect and support him (President Buhari) because when he came as a military head of states in the past, his government brought those corrupt Nigerians as at that time to order. May God save president Buhari’s life now that he is sick, he is a great man. Late Tunde Idiagbon was also another great man who died mysteriously some years back, may his soul continue to rest in peace. He (Tunde Idiagbon) was a great man who wanted the very best for all Nigerians but was badly misunderstood because of propaganda carried out by those highly placed corrupt Nigerians who never wanted the ordinary Nigerian person to have a good life. However we leave the rest to God, he knows the best.
