Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State in Nigeria may not have an easy ride in his second and final tenure with the people of his state.

Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State started his second tenure, which will also be his last tenure as governor, on a wrong note. During his campaign, Professor Charles Soludo promised to turn Anambra State into Dubai, but today the people of Anambra State believe that he has no real plan on how to fix the state.
Governor Charles Soludo is not seen as a true democrat by the people of Anambra State.

Recently, the governor ordered the closure of businesses in the state after the people refused to end the sit-at-home agenda, a decision many consider a huge mistake. The sit-at-home agenda is in solidarity with the jailed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

As a result of Governor Charles Soludo’s dictatorial order, the people of Anambra State took to the streets, leading to a massive strike action. It was also revealed that Governor Charles Soludo is among the Southeast leaders who do not want Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to be released.

At this point, it is fair to say that, as an educated person, many expected Governor Charles Soludo to use diplomacy to handle the crisis in Anambra State through continuous dialogue and appeal, which he has not been able to do. If things continue this way in the state, he may not have an easy ride throughout his tenure.
Hence, we are once again appealing to Governor Charles Soludo to be guided, because using aggression to govern the people of Anambra State will put him and his administration in a very tight corner.
