A court in India was on Thursday, April 5, 2018 sentenced Salman Khan to five years in prison for poaching a blackbuck (Indian antelope) in 1998. According to the report, Salman Khan, one of India’s most popular actors was found guilty of violating the country’s wildlife laws and the case was brought against him by members of a community called the Bishnoi. Other four Bollywood actors (Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Tabu and Sonali Bendre) accused in the case were acquitted. Khan’s lawyer said that Khan planned to appeal against the sentence.
