Former Governor Orji Uzo Kalu is widely viewed by many residents of Abia State as a failed politician who should not be allowed to return to the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
We appeal to voters in Orji Uzo Kalu’s constituency to completely reject his bid for another term in the Senate. This time, the people of Abia State should avoid re-electing non-performing leaders into positions of authority, whether as senators or governors. Even if bribes are offered, they should be rejected. Doing so would send a strong message to politicians in Abia State and across Nigeria who rely on vote buying rather than performance to gain power.
Our point is simple. If Professor Nnenna Oti had accepted bribes and announced the governorship election result in favour of a corrupt candidate who did not win, Abia State would likely be suffering today. However, as a professor known for integrity, she announced the election results as the people voted, which brought Governor Alex Otti to power.
Governor Alex Otti is widely regarded as a man of integrity who is performing exceptionally well in Abia State. The impact of his administration is visible across the state. Based on this reality, we call on the people of Abia State to reject former Governor Orji Uzo Kalu and what we describe as his group of corrupt and deceitful associates, who many fear would drag the state back into darkness if given another opportunity.
Once again, Governor Alex Otti is seen by many residents as the only leader capable of delivering good governance in Abia State. His achievements are visible for everyone to see, and they stand as clear evidence of purposeful leadership.
Abia State has already experienced the cost of poor leadership, and many residents believe the state cannot afford a return to the past. Rejecting non-performing politicians and resisting vote buying are necessary steps toward protecting progress. With clear evidence of development under Governor Alex Otti, the people of Abia State are urged to defend their future by supporting leaders with integrity and proven results.
