We (Viewers Corner News team) have written articles in the past concerning this topic and we will continue doing so until Nigeria as a country gets it right through an honest leader with vision and dedication, who would bring corrupt individuals to book irrespective of their status in the country (Nigeria) and political party affiliations because corruption and recklessness have dragged the country (Nigeria) to unending point. Who is to be blamed for this position Nigeria is at the moment? The answer is general Ibrahim Babangida who is the spoiler of Nigeria. If he had allowed President Buhari’s military regime of the 80’s to remain in office, by now Nigeria would have been great. Corruption, recklessness, lawlessness and indiscipline would have been history in Nigeria which is the truth. In the 80’s, corruption was massive under the leadership of late President Shehu Shagari’s democratic government which was one of the reasons the military drove them out of office but when President Buhari’s military government took over power, the wisdom to end corruption, recklessness, lawlessness and indiscipline was there but today corruption has eaten so deep in the country (Nigeria). Some of those who allegedly looted the treasury of Nigeria are still part of President Buhari’s government, little or no effort is being made to bring them to book. If it were in the 80’s, men like Comrade Adams Oshiomhole would be in detention by now to explain how he got the money to build a multi billion Naira residence in his home town. Again, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has never been a business man that the world knows but a public officer, how come he is so rich? This would have been the question President Buhari’s military regime of the 80’s would have asked him. During the 80’s, ex-Lagos state governor Mr Lateef Jakande was a journalist by profession and later became the governor of Lagos state. He donated 14 million Naira to his political party (UPN) then and was held in detention by President Buhari/late Tunde Idiagbon’s military regime. They wanted him to explain to the Nigerian public how he got such huge amount of money to donate to a political party. Honestly such action from President Buhari/late Tunde Idiagbon during their regime of the 80’s was very nice and so many other politicians like that faced the law including ex-governor Jim Nwaobodo of then Anambra state who was always flying around the world with private jet to watch various football matches anywhere it was played. Look at governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state who is unable to pay workers salaries and pensioners allowances in his state, after receiving so much money from the federal government of Nigeria, still not much is being done in Kogi state just like other governors in Nigeria today who are there squandering their state money with impunity. If it were in the 80’s, no one would ever try such and all these actions of the 80’s brought President Buhari to office as a great man which he is but today, majority of those in his (President Buhari) government have lots of skeletons in their cupboards and should be brought to book. We (Viewers Corner News team) shall continue to blame ex-military leader Mr Ibrahim Babangia as the man who brought pains to the people of Nigeria because if he had not removed President Buhari’s military government of the 80’s from power, corruption, recklessness, lawlessness and indiscipline would have been history in the country (Nigeria).
