A German activist, Peter Steudtner and seven other human rights activists were on Thursday, October 26, 2017 released from Silivri prison in Turkey. A court in Istanbul ordered the release of these eight human rights activists from prison pending the outcome of their trial. According to the information our correspondent gathered, these human rights activists including journalist Deniz Yucel were arrested during a police raid while they were attending a digital security training workshop in July, 2017 after Turkey failed coup. German government has praised Istanbul court’s decision to release Peter Steudtner and seven other activists, and also requested that the remaining German citizens who are in custody without justification or charges to be set free.
