Peter Obi

If the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Wants to Win in 2027, Peter Obi Should Be Its Flag Bearer.

We join millions of well meaning Nigerians in appealing to Mr. Atiku Abubakar to step aside and allow Peter Obi to emerge as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Peter Obi has already stated clearly that he is willing to serve only one tenure of four years. This alone should reassure all stakeholders and promote unity within the opposition.

If Atiku Abubakar contests the party primary, there is a strong belief that he would secure the ticket using financial influence. If that happens and he becomes the presidential candidate, many Nigerians believe it would only favour the All Progressives Congress and lead to the re election of President Bola Tinubu.

It is widely believed that the All Progressives Congress is only concerned about Peter Obi because of his massive national support base. With Peter Obi as the candidate, the ruling party faces a serious challenge. With Atiku Abubakar, however, many believe the ruling party would easily retain power in 2027.

The decision therefore lies with the leadership and members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Nigerians continue to support Peter Obi because of his ideas on governance, accountability, and prudent management of public resources. He is widely regarded as disciplined, competent, and capable of leading Nigeria in a new direction.
We therefore call on Atiku Abubakar to do what many Nigerians see as the right thing by allowing Peter Obi to emerge as the flag bearer of the Party. This decision, many believe, would not only strengthen the party but also serve the best interests of Nigeria.

The 2027 presidential election will be decided by credibility, national acceptance, and public trust. For the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to stand a real chance of winning, it must present a candidate who inspires confidence across the country. Many Nigerians believe that candidate is Peter Obi. Choosing wisely now could determine the future of the party and the future of Nigeria.
