35-year-old Orville Morris, an inmate at the Westville Correctional Facility in La Porte County (Indiana) who was declared missing on Friday last week has been found. According to the Indiana Department of Corrections, Morris was found on Sunday, May 7 hiding in the ceiling of the jail after the facility’s staff heard a noise in the ceiling. Morris who is currently being questioning by Correctional Police Officers will be placed in a high security restrictive housing unit of the prison. The Indiana Department of Corrections is expected to charge Morris for attempted escape and all information will be referred to the La Porte County Prosecutor for consideration of felony charges. Morris has a violent history including armed robbery and was sent to jail on July 19, 2014. He finished serving a 450 day sentence for theft/receiving stolen property on February 28, 2015 and he is currently serving a three year sentence for robbery. He was to start serving an additional three year sentence for burglary on August 1, 2017 and expected to be released from prison on January 1, 2019.
