Majority of Ebonyi state house of assembly members are governor David Umahi’s boys and have sold their consciences for worldly acquisitions. We (Viewers Corner News and the advisory team) call them the YES YES group of human beings who can not see beyond their noses and work for the development of the state. Instead of them telling their boss (governor David Umahi) to create infrastructures that would bring growth to Ebonyi state so that the people of the state can have a better life, they ignored that and resorted to personal gains forgetting that it was the Ebonyi state people who made them climbed to that level they are occupying at the moment. The YES YES group of lawmakers in Ebonyi state collect huge handouts from governor David Umahi and approve whatever request he presents to them without minding the effect of such terrible program as it affects the people of the state (Ebonyi state). This system of governance has brought Ebonyi state backward. Recently governor David Umahi appointed some group of individuals and call them technical assistants and special advisers bringing to about 681 technical assistants and special advisers in the state. Majority of these are people with questionable characters and now they are in governor David Umahi’s government. Viewers Corner News correspondent learned that governor David Umahi is seriously preparing for 2019 governorship race that is why he is employing them and has promised to employ more of such people so that when that time comes, he will have a safe landing and be re-elected as the governor of Ebonyi state for the second term. However majority of the Ebonyi state people have already made up their minds that enough is enough, they can not have governor David Umahi anymore as their next governor come 2019. Our (Viewers Corner News and the advisory team) advice to the people of Ebonyi state is this, go out and vote for a change when the time comes and get a better life so that governor David Umahi’s re-election bid will be denied.
Another troubling issue is that some structures in Ebonyi state which are not supposed to be demolished are being demolished by governor David Umahi and his government, at the end he would erect a meaningless structure and claim billions of Naira as cost for doing the job. This is corruption at work. Viewers Corner News learned that the Ebonyi Hotel has been mapped to be pulled down, governor David Umahi said he is going to build a flyover there and as it is now, Ebonyi Hotel is locked perhaps waiting for further directives from governor David Umahi and his government. This attitude is killing the already existing businesses in the state (Ebonyi state). Somehow at a future date, governor David Umahi and his corrupt government would present billions of Naira as cost for building that alleged flyover. Our concern on this issue is that there are other areas within the state which should be looked into but has been neglected by governor David Umahi and his government. The only thing that is required as suggested by Mazi Okemiri (the Ohaneze Ndigbo Ebonyi state chapter) would be to have governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state replaced because staying in power beyond 2019 would be an extension of hardship and poverty for the state which the people of Ebonyi state will not accommodate anymore.
