Viewers Corner News correspondent in Abuja (Nigeria) gathered that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed the country’s general elections scheduled to hold on Saturday, 16 February 2019 (Presidential and National Assembly) and Saturday, 2 March 2019 (Governorship, State House of Assembly and the FCT Area Council Elections). The Elections have been rescheduled as follows:
Presidential and National Assembly Elections: 23rd February, 2019.
Governorship, State House of Assembly and the FCT Area Council Elections: 9th March, 2019.
Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, the INEC Chairman who made the announcement while briefing the Press cited the Commission’s inadequate preparation on logistics and operational plans as the reasons for the postponement.
