Like the saying goes, “nobody is perfect”, somehow the late Muammar Gaddafi of Libya may have made some mistakes before latter realized it but to some people his mistakes were when he stood up against the world powers while others believed he was fighting for the right of everyone within the continent of Africa. In our opinion, his mistake was when he said that a “Gold Dina” currency should be introduced in the continent of Africa to replace whatever currency people are using within various countries of the continent. In his mind he felt that if such currency was introduced, those buying the oil that is produced in Africa would have to use the currency (Gold Dina) as a medium of transaction which would have been good but was wrongly introduced. Normally such issue should have been made confidential until it gets to the final stage where it should be lunched before making it known to the world. It may be very difficult though to hide such project but like we mentioned above, it was wrongly handled. Based on that those world powers assumed that it would be a threat on them and their business interests so they went all out to have this beautiful idea of Muammar Gaddafi destroyed and starting from that moment, all sorts of allegations were tied on his neck which led to so many things and the big man was brought down. Again the late Muammar Gaddafi of Libya said that the oil is ours therefore Africans should be in control and determine which currency our products should be traded with, hopefully we shall continue the discussion of this topic in our future article. We (Viewers Corner News team) are appealing to leaders in the continent of Africa to be their brother’s keeper and cooperate more by finding solution on how to have African problems settled. Do not sell out your continent to the world. African leaders should always try to solve their disputes internally without involving external forces and with that, the world powers would not take countries within the continent as lesser nations of the world.
