A 44-year old inmate (Larry Darnell Gordon) who was locked up on several felony charges reportedly killed two bailiffs and injured two more people while trying to escape from a western Michigan courthouse. According to the information our correspondent gathered, on Monday afternoon when Larry Darnell Gordon was taking from a cell for court appearance at Berrien County Courthouse in St. Joseph (southwestern corner of Michigan), he snatched a gun from an officer while trying to escape and fatally shot two bailiffs. He also wounded two civilians before some officers shot him dead. The two bailiffs that were shot dead by the inmate are Joseph Zangaro (61 years) and Ronald Kienzle (63 years). Ronald Kienzle retired as a sergeant at Benton Township police department after serving in the U.S. Army before he was employed in the court as a bailiff. Joseph Zangaro retired from the Michigan State Police as commander of the Bridgman Post in Berrien County and served as head of the court security before he was shot dead by Larry Darnell Gordon. May their souls rest in peace.
