Those fighting against corruption in Nigeria should please make sure that their hands are clean for the war to be successful. Sometime ago, a bishop in Edo state (Nigeria) accused Comrade Adams Oshiomhole who is the former chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) of corruption. He said that Comrade Adams Oshiomhole shortchanged the people of Edo state, meaning that most of Edo state wealth went into Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s pocket. The bishop also said that he has been pursuing the case to get the attention of the federal government so that Comrade Adams Oshiomhole can be prosecuted on issues of corruption in a competent court of law in Nigeria. According to the bishop, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole embezzled so much money in Edo state and we (Viewers Corner News team) expected EFCC to have invited Comrade Adams Oshiomhole so that he can explain what he knows concerning the accusation made against him by the bishop. This allegation led Viewers Corner News team into looking at Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s activities in Edo state during his tenure as a governor. Comrade Adams Oshiomhole did not perform as expected compared to the amount of money he received from the federal government of Nigeria as allocations and the internal generated revenues which would have been a plus to enable him get the jobs done nicely in Edo state. This made us (Viewers Corner News team) to conclude that the bishop who accused Comrade Adams Oshiomhole may be right. Again, no normal worker anywhere in the world would ever build the type of mansion Comrade Adams Oshiomhole built for himself in Edo state. Our (Viewers Corner News team) point is that if you are preaching against corruption, you should be a role model for others to follow. Nigeria as a country can not afford to have corrupt people leading the country and at the same time pretending to be innocent of such offence. The only person we (Viewers Corner News team) can say is not corrupt is president Buhari and no matter what people say or think about him, he (president Buhari) is not a corrupt man but majority of those around him have lots of skeletons in their cupboards. For Nigeria to grow, those at the helm of affairs in the country (Nigeria) should get things done the right way by eradicating corruption which is a deadly disease that has blocked the country (Nigeria) from moving forward.
