Mr. Mohammed Babandede (the comptroller general of the Nigeria Immigration Service) mentioned recently that the Nigeria international passport fee would be increased soonest because of the cost of procuring the booklet most probably, which is alright but in so doing, we (Viewers Corner News team) are appealing that the 10 years lifespan of the Nigeria International Passport as proposed by some members of the House of representatives be approved to conform with the new increase in price for obtaining the Nigeria international passport. This is because the five years period for the international passport is too short. Nigerians all over the world are complaining that the five years period for the Nigerian international passport is problematic most especially during renewal periods, therefore the Nigerian government should kindly do something about it so as to conform with other documents of progressive nations of the world. Again, in our (Viewers Corner News and the advisory team) opinion, we do not think that it is a good idea to increase the Nigeria International Passport fee and still let it remain at that five years renewal period, it won’t be right. Please think about it and do what is right for the citizens of the country (Nigeria) concerning this issue (international passport).
