We are revisiting the 1993 Nigeria presidential election which late Chief MKO. Abiola won but was later nullified by General Ibrahim Babangida and his men for reasons best known to them. Late Professor Humphrey Nwosu, an Igbo man from Anambra state was in charge as the Chairman of the Electoral Commission. Despite pressures from some prominent and dishonest Nigerians, especially from the ethnic group where Chief MKO. Abiola came from, to have the 1993 presidential election result twisted, still, Professor Humphrey Nwosu who was then the Chairman stood his ground and announced the presidential election results as Nigerians voted by declaring Chief MKO. Abiola the winner of the 1993 presidential election. Today, we remember late Professor Humphrey Nwosu as a hero who shall never be forgotten in the history of Nigeria, especially each time the 1993 presidential election result won by Chief MKO. Abiola was mentioned and later nullified by General Ibrahim Babangida and his men.
