It is a well known fact that most state governors in the northern part of Nigeria are more consistent when it comes to issues of implementing policies than their south south and south east counterparts which is the truth, take it or leave it. Look at governor El-Rufai of Kaduna state who we (Viewers Corner News team) have so much regard, has already started paying the (30,000 Naira) minimum wage to civil servants in Kaduna state (Nigeria). Such moves by governor El-Rufai should be commended, he is a great governor. Again, for this singular project of paying salaries of workers, he (governor El-Rufai) has won the heart of Viewers Corner News team. Even in Kebbi state (Nigeria), it was also reported that the governor there would start paying the new minimum wage of 30,000 Naira to civil servants which is great. In our (Viewers Corner News team) opinion, these are governors who believe in the welfare of their workers, that the needful should be done which is nice but in the South east and South South, almost all the governors there are complaining that the 30,000 Naira minimum wage is too much for them to pay their workers. Most of these governors up till now are still owing workers months, if not years of unpaid salaries and allowances because of corruption and lack of leadership skills which are affecting them from meeting up in paying workers salaries. However, we (Viewers Corner News team) are calling on the debt owing governors in Nigeria to emulate the good works of governor El-Rufai of Kaduna state (Nigeria) and act accordingly. They should understand that as governors, the first thing to do when the federal allocation gets to them is to make sure that workers salaries and pensioners allowances are paid as at when due. Not paying workers and pensioners their money may in the long run collapse their families or even lead to death, therefore we (Viewers Corner News team) are appealing to those governors in the affected states across Nigeria to pay workers and pensioners their money before starting any project in their various states.
