Mr. Abubakar Umar (the former military governor of Kaduna state during the military regime of the 80s) is on the same page as the late elder statesman Maitama Sule. The late Maitama Sule visited President Buhari in Aso Rock villa with the northern elders when he was alive. He advised President Buhari to follow justice, fairness and equity in leading Nigeria. Now another leader (Mr Abubakar Umar) from Kaduna state is saying the same thing. Mr. Abubakar Umar advised President Buhari to apply fairness, justice and equity in handling the people of Nigeria, which is a good advice. This means that all Nigerians should be treated equally no matter one’s ethnic background. You can not allow some groups of individuals in Nigeria to carry AK47 but proscribe another group as a terrorist organisation, leaving the terrorist themselves to move freely and causing havoc in the country. Everyone should be treated in accordance with the laws of the land for peace and unity to be achieved. Mr. Abubakar Umar has always been on the side of the truth, hence the Viewers Corner News team is appealing to other leaders in Nigeria to adopt a similar approach to solving issues. President Buhari’s supporters should always tell him the truth when his government makes mistakes, so that it can be corrected immediately. If the truth is hidden from President Buhari, he would think that all is well, that he is doing the right thing. There are lots of issues in President Buhari’s government which need urgent attention, starting with insecurity across the country, corruption and creating jobs for the people of Nigeria.
