Ex-governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State in Nigeria is a very corrupt and selfish man. He has no right to tell the people of the Southeast not to present a presidential candidate in 2027 until 2031.
The current Minister of Works, Mr. David Umahi, has been urging the Southeast to withhold from fielding a candidate in the 2027 presidential election until President Bola Tinubu completes eight years in office. He is allegedly asking the people of the Southeast to throw their full support behind the re-election of APC/President Bola Tinubu in 2027. To many in the Southeast, and even across Nigeria, this suggestion is laughable given the severe economic hardship Nigerians have been facing since Tinubu’s government came to power.
On the other hand, the people of the Southeast, together with many Nigerians from other regions, are making it clear that Mr. Peter Obi is the most credible candidate for 2027. Their support for him is not because he is from the Southeast but because they believe he is the best person to move Nigeria forward. Obi is standing as a presidential candidate for all Nigerians, not just for one region.
Ex-governor Umahi should stop playing deceitful political games. Based on our findings, Mr. Peter Obi remains the people’s choice. Nigerians voted for him massively in 2023, but the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) rigged him out. This time, Nigerians are vowing to protect their votes in 2027 and ensure that the mistakes of the last presidential election are not repeated.
