Some Nigerians are concerned that ethnic minority groups in the country will suffer if the country splits up. Such claims and fears are laughable and completely wrong. There is no country in the world that does not have ethnic minority groups. Therefore, if Nigeria split, it would not be an exception. What is important in this situation is to have laws that work for everyone in the country, irrespective of tribe or who is involved. If the rule of law is applied at all times when the need arises, then the country in question would be governed nicely without much stress, unlike Nigeria where the law favours a particular group of people, which is one of the reasons for agitations and insecurity across the country. If the laws of Nigeria are fully implemented when the need arises despite who is involved, then all the agitations going on in the country would not be there, so saying that minority groups may have issues is not true at all. If the laws of the land are not manipulated to favour a certain group of people and justice is delivered at all times, then the people of Nigeria would build faith in the justice system, which would in the end, bring unity among the people of the country irrespective of the tribe.
