Godwin Emefiele

Seven hundred and fifty (750) unit luxury housing estates belonging to the ex-central bank governor of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, have been seized by the government of Nigeria and are ready to be auctioned as alleged.

Ex-Central Bank governor of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, who allegedly defrauded Nigeria of billions of naira and used part of the stolen money to build about 750 luxury housing estates of his own in Abuja, deserves no mercy considering the level of theft he carried out against the country. This is unbelievable; a man trusted with the responsibility of Nigeria’s finances turned around and used his position to liquidate the country. The money spent to acquire these buildings was huge. If the money was invested in other critical areas of development, not only housing, we believe that real progress would have been made in the country. There are so many of them like Mr. Godwin Emefiele in Nigeria, who stole more and are walking freely in Nigeria. Honestly, such groups of individuals are bad news to society. Again, now that the government of Nigeria has taken over all the buildings and wants to auction them to the people of Nigeria. We are appealing that fair dealing should be applied to reach all Nigerians.
