It is true that everyone should learn to forgive people and accept them the way they are, most especially those that had committed series of atrocities in the past and later repented or served some sorts of punishment for the crime they committed. Somehow Chief James Ibori is one such individual, when he was the governor of Delta state (Nigeria), he took so many things for granted though he worked to the best of his ability in the state by putting things right but then his best was not good enough because if we calculate what he received as allocation from the federal government of Nigeria added to the internally generated revenue during his tenure to put things properly so that the people of Delta state can be comfortable which he never did satisfactorily, majority would agree with us that much was not done when he was in office but lots of people in Delta state were unable to see that because he gave them peanuts when he was in power as alleged. However all that was in the past therefore everyone should look forward to the future which holds a lot in stock for the state (Delta state) and Nigeria as a whole. Our (Viewers Corner News) concern now is that those communities giving different Chieftaincy titles to Chief James Ibori, on what ground are they doing that? Normally titles are regarded as honours and should be given to those that merited them, whether the person has money or not. Integrity, honesty, free from criminal activities are some of the requisites for giving someone a title but our findings revealed that in all parts of Nigeria, various communities and groups are giving different titles to criminals including those that did not deserve them just because of money. Based on that, we (Viewers Corner News) are appealing to various communities in Nigeria to look well before giving out any title to anyone because is like with money, anyone can be given a title which is not supposed to be and with such practice in place, the credibility of such title has no relevance anymore. Let titles be giving to those who merited them and not fraudsters who have committed different crimes. Again some of them are still having cases in the tribunal but has been given various titles. Sincerely doing so would only encourage corruption and other dirty dealings to acquire wealth in the society which should be discouraged. We also gathered recently that the senate president of Nigeria (Bukola Saraki) was given a title by an organization in Nigeria, this is a man with lots of skeletons in his cupboard and has cases in the tribunal has bagged a title. We are asking those that are issuing these titles, do they really want Nigeria to move forward and be great like other progressive nations of the world? If their answer is yes, then please stop issuing titles to fraudsters. Give it to those that merit them, those that stand by the truth, integrity and free from criminal activities. They may not be rich or influential but their records are great, these individuals live in your various communities in Nigeria, they deserve to be honoured and not fraudsters.
