Terrorism and banditry have become serious challenges in Nigeria, especially in the northern part of the country. These issues are widely acknowledged and deeply troubling. The sight of a trailer allegedly carrying large quantities of ammunition through a public area raises serious questions about how such dangerous materials are being transported, and how they find their way into the hands of violent groups.
This situation contributes to the growing belief among many Nigerians that the fight against insecurity is not being handled with the level of seriousness required. When incidents like this occur, it creates the impression that certain individuals or networks may be enabling or benefiting from activities that worsen insecurity, a perception that must be urgently addressed.
We also recall the heartbreaking case of a Reverend who was kidnapped, where his family and supporters struggled to raise about one hundred million naira as part of the ransom demanded. Despite this effort, the abductors still killed him. Such tragedies are unacceptable and must be condemned by all. No human being deserves to be treated in this manner.
Innocent Nigerians continue to suffer in the hands of terrorists and bandits. If the government of Nigeria cannot effectively protect its citizens, then communities must be empowered legally and responsibly to defend themselves. Enough is enough. Nigerians deserve safety, justice, and peace.
