It is quite unfortunate that most leaders in Nigeria elected to lead their people do not know exactly what leadership is all about.

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state is one of such leaders in Nigeria. Governor David Umahi wants to build an airport that he claims would be the very best in Nigeria if completed in 2023, but the state has no money to buy equipment for the proposed airport. He has requested that the Buhahi’s government should give the state 10 billion Naira to buy the equipment needed to operate the airport. In the first place, why would governor David Umahi begin a project that he could not complete? A venture that would not yield much income for the state. Our point here is that from Enugu to Ebonyi state, it is less than an hour drive. Those who intend to fly should be able to use the Enugu airport until the time is right for Ebonyi state to have its own airport, which is what any good leader would do at this point of economic stagnation. Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state and his government may have wasted some billions of naira without properly calculating how they are going to get the equipment to run the airport. Hence, he is calling on Buhari’s government to help the state. In Ebonyi state, such a project is a wasted effort because it is not what the people of the state need. If governor David Umahi had planned properly, such huge sums of money invested so far to build the airport should have been channelled into other projects in the state which would assist in creating jobs and at the same time elevating the poor masses of Ebonyi state. The time for such investment is not supposed to be now. Another surprising aspect is that governor David Umahi has promised to handover the airport to the government of Nigeria on completion, perhaps when the government of Nigeria would have bought the equipment needed to run the airport. The Viewers Corner News team is appealing to all voters in various states across Nigeria to elect leaders with good track records and foresight to lead the country. Honestly, most of the current leaders of Nigeria have no clue about how to manage the resources of their various states. They are so dishonest, only looking for projects they can put their hands on in their states, so that at the end, more extra dubious cash in billions will go into their pockets, which is bad.
