Chief Ayo Oke, the former Director General of the NIA, who was declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria years back, allegedly sneaked into Nigeria and has now been nominated as an ambassador.
The All Progressives Congress is the worst thing that has ever happened to Nigeria as a political party. The story of how Mr. Ayo Oke, the former NIA Director General, allegedly used his house in Ikoyi to store millions in various hard currencies in 2017 has resurfaced.
Back in 2017, while investigations were ongoing, Mr. Ayo Oke hurriedly left Nigeria for medical treatment abroad to avoid arrest, which led to him being declared wanted. Instead of returning to explain himself to Nigerian authorities who needed answers on how the money got to his Ikoyi residence in Lagos, he never did so till today.
It was also revealed that after Mr. Ayo Oke’s groundwork through the corrupt leadership of the All Progressives Congress, his alleged corruption case gradually became history. Right now, Mr. Ayo Oke and his wife are fully back in Nigeria.
The surprising aspect of this matter is that Mr. Ayo Oke, a man who was once declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria, has now been nominated as an ambassador. Honestly, Nigeria has too many criminals at the helm of affairs.
The money these corrupt leaders looted from Nigeria’s treasury could have been used to develop critical areas of the economy if such huge sums had not been stolen.
