It is a fact that genocide has been happening in Nigeria. Unfortunately, to cover their shame, the government of Nigeria has been pushing a false narrative to the African Union and to the world, insisting that no genocide is taking place in the country. The sad part is that the African Union, which is supposed to examine the facts critically before taking any position, has refused to do so. Instead, they have joined the government of Nigeria in claiming that no genocide is happening. This is extremely disappointing.
Any organisation that refuses to be fair to the people of Africa should be questioned. We have lost respect and confidence in the African Union. The organisation appears to have nothing meaningful to offer the people of Africa.
Therefore, we are calling on Africans and concerned citizens around the world to ignore the false statements coming from the African Union and the government of Nigeria, claiming that there is no genocide. Evidence continues to show that genocide is indeed happening in Nigeria, and this should not be ignored.
The world must assist Nigeria in ending this horrific problem, especially in the Christian-dominated areas of northern Nigeria where the killings have been most severe.
