This is the beauty of democracy, the people are the king makers and have the power to do and undo things without having to use guns to achieve their objectives. The African leaders and their citizens should take note of this simple fact. Now that a new president of Gambia would be taking the mantle of leadership starting from January 2017, everyone in the country (Gambia) and around the world expect him to carry out real economic reforms and rewrite the wrongs of president Yahyah Jammeh. The president elect of Gambia, Mr Adama Barrow should work very closely with progressive nations of the world to bring real development to the country (Gambia) and as an individual who had his education abroad and has also seen the good things there on how the advance nations are using the available resources within their reach to create infrastructures for the people of their various countries, we (Viewers Corner News team) expect you (Adama Barrow) the president elect of Gambia to do the same too as someone who has been exposed to good things of life abroad. Always listen to the cry of your people because they voted for you to bring development to the country (Gambia). Please do not disappointment them because the country has suffered so much in the hands of dictator Yahyah Jammeh who does not take advice from anyone but himself alone. The good thing he (Yahyah Jammeh) did was accepting the result of the presidential election without putting in any form of fight, this action which he sincerely performed will go down nicely in history.
Viewers Corner News and the advisory team would also use this opportunity to appeal to other leaders in the continent of African who have refused completely to step down from power, countries like Burundi, Equatorial Guinea, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo to emulate the Gambia president (Yahyah Jammeh) who accepted defeat and said it is time to leave. This is an honour and he has to be commended for doing so but unlike these few countries we mentioned above, who has refused to step down even when the citizens of their various countries do not want them anymore, still they want to be in power till death, this is not right.
