Former Attorney General Abubakar Malami Cried Out in EFCC Custody Over Alleged Disobedience of Court Orders.

Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s strongman, Mr. Abubakar Malami, who served as Attorney General of Nigeria, reportedly cried out in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, accusing the agency of disobeying court orders by refusing to release him despite a court directive.

Wonders, they say, shall never end. Mr. Abubakar Malami, who was once regarded as one of the most powerful figures under the Buhari administration, is widely remembered by Nigerians as a man who frequently ignored court orders during his tenure as Attorney General of Nigeria. Today, he is reportedly bitter in EFCC custody, accusing the same system he once controlled of disobeying the law.
Mr. Abubakar Malami allegedly stated that a court has ordered his release, yet the EFCC has refused to let him go. He further complained that he is missing his family and wishes to spend the holiday with them. Honestly, many Nigerians find this situation ironic.

Nigerians vividly remember how arrogant Mr. Abubakar Malami was during his time as Attorney General. Even when courts ordered the release of detainees, he and those working with him often used their power to keep people unlawfully detained. Today, Mr. Abubakar Malami is being served the same treatment he once served Nigerians while in power.

The message here is clear. Those strongmen of the APC and President Bola Tinubu who victimize citizens, disobey court orders, and speak recklessly to Nigerians because they currently hold power should tread carefully. If they fail to change their ways and begin to act responsibly, they may one day face the same fate as Mr. Abubakar Malami when they leave office.

Mr. Abubakar Malami is widely believed by many Nigerians to be deeply corrupt, and as such, some feel he deserves whatever treatment he is currently receiving under the present administration. This situation should serve as a strong lesson to current and future Nigerian leaders that power is temporary, not permanent.

Power changes and no position lasts forever. Leaders who abuse authority, disregard the rule of law, and oppress citizens while in office often end up facing the same system they once manipulated. The experience of Mr. Abubakar Malami is a reminder that leadership should be exercised with humility, respect for the law, and genuine concern for the people. True leadership is about service, not intimidation, and Nigeria will only progress when those in power understand this reality.
