AN EARTHQUAKE OF 6.1 MAGNITUDE STRUCK OSAKA (JAPAN), KILLING THREE PEOPLE AND WOUNDED ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY OTHERS.

It was reported that an earthquake of 6.1 magnitude struck Osaka (Japan’s second-biggest metropolis) on Monday, 18 June 2018 killing three people and injured about one hundred and fifty (150) others. The quake destroyed walls, windows, houses and forced many factories to halt production. Panasonic halted production at three of its plants in Osaka. Daihatsu Motor Co (a unit of Toyota Motor Corp) stopped its factories in Osaka and Kyoto temporarily as it checked for damage. Kubota Corp (Tractor maker) halted two plants in the area, Daikin Industries Ltd (air conditioner maker) temporarily suspended operations at two plants. Honda Motor Co., Mitsubishi Motors and Sharp Corp resumed operations after they had stopped for safety checks.
