Setina Titosse, the former chairperson of the government’s Agricultural Development Fund (FDA) who was charged with corruption, embezzlement, money-laundering, abuse of her office and membership of a criminal association was recently sentenced to 18 years in prison by Mozambican court. The court (Maputo City Court) which was presided by Judge Alexandre Samuel also sentenced 20 others in the case to between 12 years and 18 months. Two others involved in the case were acquitted and the defence counsels who described the judgement as unfair said that they will appeal.
