Viewers Corner News team would want to remind governor Samuel Artom of Benue state (Nigeria) that the Almighty God can only reward and direct a sitting governor in Nigeria to seek re-election to a second term only if the unpaid workers’ salaries and pensioners’ allowances in their various states are settled and paid promptly on monthly basis. Without that, contesting for another tenure shall be rejected by God Almighty. Therefore we (Viewers Corner News and the advisory team) urge you (governor Samuel Artom of Benue state) to do the right thing if you belong to the group of governors in Nigeria who have refused to pay workers what rightfully belong to them because as it is now, workers in various states across Nigeria are facing severe hardship as a result of non-payment of salaries and pensioners’ allowances too. President Buhari of Nigeria once said that he was surprise that most governors in Nigeria would sleep comfortably when workers’ salaries in their states are not paid. This is the word of a great and sincere president of Nigeria which is nice but unfortunately some Nigeria governors do not care about that. Despite all the allocations they receive on monthly basis from the federal government of Nigeria, still salaries and pensioners’ allowances are not paid. However, the 2019 governorship race would be very interesting because the files of all the sitting governors in Nigeria who have refused to pay workers their salaries and pensioners’ allowances shall be made known to the Nigerian public which would guide the voters in choosing who would direct the affairs of their states. If voters in Nigeria decide to choose a governor who is owing workers’ salaries and pensioners’ allowances in their states to be their leader, then it is left for them to do so but then we (Viewers Corner News team) shall let the Nigerian voters to understand why such governor or governors who are owing workers’ salaries and pensioners’ allowances should not be re-elected for a second tenure. Sincerely we see them as bad news to the development of any state in the country (Nigeria) and that we (Viewers Corner News and the advisory team) shall campaign against when the time comes (2019).
