The former vice president of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa will be sworn in on Friday, November 24, 2017 following ex president Robert Mugabe’s resignation after being in power as the president of Zimbabwe for 37 years. Mnangagwa fled the country (Zimbabwe) for his safety after Sir Robert Mugabe fired him two weeks ago and this prompted the military to take over the affairs of the country. In 1980, ex president Mugabe led his country to independence from Britain after a war and since then, he had been the president of Zimbabwe. He (Mugabe) resigned in Harare (Zimbabwe) on November 22, 2017 after the country’s parliament began an impeachment process to force him out.
