Viewers Corner News Correspondent learned that a nationwide ceasefire between the Syrian government and Syrian opposition groups has been announced. The announcement was made by the Russian President, Vladimir Putin and it came after Russia,Turkey and Iran said last week that they were ready to assist in bringing peace in Syria six-year-old civil war. According to the report, president Putin of Russia said that the Syrian government and Syrian opposition groups had signed documents including ceasefire which is expected to take effect on the midnight of December 30, 2016. Also Russia has agreed to reduce its military deployment in Syria. Turkey and Russia will act as guarantors of Syrian nationwide ceasefire, the Syrian government representatives and the opposition will meet in Astana (Kazakhstan) in the supervision of guarantor countries. The Syrian ceasefire excludes Islamic State, the group formerly known as the Nusra Front and all groups linked to them.
