Bernard Cazeneuve (the former French interior minister) has been appointed as the new French Prime Minister. He is to replace Manuel Valls (the former French Prime Minister) who stepped down on Tuesday in order to run for the post of a president in the country’s next presidential election being next year (2017) under the socialist party. President Francois Hollande’s decision not to run for a second term last week has made Manuel Valls to consider running for the post. The 53-year-old Cazeneuve, a close ally of President Francois Hollande was appointed interior minister in 2014 and he has championed three counter-terrorism laws and one intelligence law in the country.
