Charmian Carr, who acted as Liesl Von Trapp in The Sound of Music (1965) is dead. According to report, Charmian Carr died of complications from a rare form of dementia in Woodland Hills, California on Saturday, September 17, 2016. She acted as the oldest Von Trapp sister and sang the popular “I Am Sixteen Going on Seventeen” in Academy Award-winning Sound of Music which starred Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. She was born on December 27, 1942 in Chicago. Charmian Carr is survived by her daughters (Jennifer and Emily), grandchildren (Emma, Derek, William, and Tucker), siblings (Sharon, Darleen, Michael, and Brian) and niece (Julie).
