Nigerians both at home and abroad know that the Peoples Democratic Party of Nigeria, in its 16 years of leading the country, destroyed the economy so badly. The Peoples Democratic Party and their members used Nigeria’s resources for personal gains and many more. At that point, the people of Nigeria who brought them to power discovered that if they allow the Peoples Democratic Party of Nigeria to continue leading the country, Nigeria may collapse completely. Nigerians then decided to elect APC/President Buhari’s government to power with the belief that President Buhari, as a former General who stood against corruption and injustice, would be able to bring an end to insecurity in the country and also make the economy work better. The people of Nigeria are now unsure which is better: the PDP they rejected or the current government led by President Buhari, whom they expected to repair Nigeria’s damaged economy. Under APC/president Buhari’s led government, freedom of expression as it is practised in any democracy is not allowed as it was when the Peoples Democratic Party was controlling the affairs of Nigeria. This is bad. If you criticize President Buhari’s government, they will use the DSS, the army, and the police to hunt you down. This aspect of President Buhari’s led government use of force has gotten the people of Nigeria talking based on our findings. The insecurity which APC/president Buhari’s led government promised to bring to an end has become worse. The most surprising aspect is that the presidency of Nigeria, instead of admitting their failures, pushes them back to the past government. This shows that they have no idea of how to end insecurity in Nigeria or repair the country’s economy. The Viewers Corner News team would use this opportunity to plead with the people of Nigeria to be calm and accept the failures of APC/president Buhari’s led government because in less than two years, their tenure of office will end which will give the people of Nigeria another opportunity to elect a new leader. Again, with what is happening in Nigeria at the moment, it should be a lesson to all the people of the country, which would enable them to make a better choice, hopefully. Think properly before casting your votes for anyone, to avoid “had I know” after every four years. Nigeria as a country will get it right in 2023 if a good leader is elected to office.
