Iran said that it will execute Mahmoud Mousavi Majd, an Iranian who spied for the United States and Israel. Gholamhossein Esmaili (judiciary spokesman) said in a news conference that Mahmoud Mousavi Majd was convicted for spying on Iran’s armed forces, especially the Quds Force and also helped the United States to locate military commander Qasem Soleimani who was assassinated in a US drone strike. Gholamhossein Esmaili also said that Mahmoud Mousavi Majd was found guilty of receiving large amount of money from both the United States central intelligence agency and Israel’s national intelligence agency (Mossad). General Qasem Soleimani who headed Iran’s Quds Force (the foreign operations arm of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards) was killed in January near Baghdad airport in a US drone strike.
