The problem with most church goers in Africa most especially in Nigeria is that they lack knowledge, understanding and the ability to reason properly most especially if their pastors are being accused of wrong doings. This attitude has subjected them to a very tight corner which automatically made them victims. If you look at churches today in Africa, so much indecent behaviours from pastors are going on there and no one would talk about it. Even those who have courage to speak out are being victimised by the society because their pastors have made them believed that it is only through him they can reach to God Almighty which is a lie. Look at this recent alleged rape issue involving the founder and senior preacher of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (Mr Biodun Fatoyinbo) in Nigeria, some people are attacking the woman who accused the pastor of rape and if the woman is not strong enough, she would drop the issue because of what the Nigerian society would say or think of her. If you carefully look at those attacking this woman who was allegedly raped by the pastor, many of them are believed to be educated but we (Viewers Corner News team) see those attacking the woman as individuals with very low mentality. Somehow the pastor may have committed the rape, who knows? But then we (Viewers Corner News team) would not say much until the investigation is concluded. We (Viewers Corner News team) would also use this opportunity to plead with every rape victim in Nigeria who for so long has been suffering in silence to open up so that men who have formed the habit of raping women would be brought to book. The trauma rape victims suffer has always been very severe and can render them mentally unstable in the long run. Again, we (Viewers Corner News team) are calling on the federal government of Nigeria and the senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to look into this issue to make a very strong law that would deter rapist from carrying out such brutal attack on their victims.
