Those Fulani Herdsmen carrying their cattle everywhere in Nigeria should be given tutorials in their own local languages on the IMPORTANCE, PROTECTION AND SAFETY OF CATTLE REARING. This could be done by educating them through radio because everyone of them and their owners carry radio along always and like to listen to news in their local languages based on our (Viewers Corner News team) findings or any other means the government deem possible that could be used to reach them. Ranches could also be built for them in specified areas. Awareness can also be created using their local chiefs from where they come from, this may sound funny or impossible but that is the truth. If such arrangement could be implemented, it may go a long way in solving the problems Nigerians are facing today in the hands of these Fulani Herdsmen and their cattle. Recently a primary school in Edo state was invaded by the Fulani Herdsmen and their cattle, children could get hurt on that process. The Fulani Herdsmen may not be doing that to hurt anyone but because they feel in their own world that what they are doing is a normal practice and very correct, hence the only way for them to raise their cattle is using any space they see anywhere in the country (Nigeria). However the best way to stop such wrong activity from happening could be through educational campaign like we (Viewers Corner News team) suggested above. It may take time to achieve but certainly it will work out nicely if the government can give it a try, not by penalizing the Fulani Herdsmen but only through educational campaign. Sometime ago their cattle in their hundreds were seen crossing pedestrian bridge somewhere in the country (Nigeria) which is bad, people should understand that every pedestrian bridge is built with specifications and having cows using it in their hundreds could collapse the bridge and death of innocent people could result from such incident which we pray does not happen. Therefore Viewers Corner News and the advisory team is appealing to both the federal and state governments in Nigeria to look into this issue on how the problems of these Fulani Herdsmen and their cattle can be solved.
